Why Binary Addition?
As computers can only use 1s and 0s, they must also perform all arithmetic in binary.
In fact, computers are only capable of adding!
Computer Scientists have had to develop some ingenious methods in order to get computers to carry out subtraction, multiplication and division.
Subtraction is done by adding a positive and a negative number (we will learn how to make negative numbers today)
Division is done by repeatedly subtracting from an original number until nothing is left and multiplication is done by repeatedly adding the same number for a set amount of times.
Adding two binary numbers together requires an understanding of certain rules.
1 + 0 = 1
